How to register on Lonely.ie
Step 1: Click on 'register' option on the home page.
Step 2: Complete your registration details and be sure to accept the terms and conditions.
Step 3: Once the registration information has been completed successfully a confirmation code will be sent to your email address.
Step 4: It is important to remember not to close the window that requires your confirmation code.
Step 5: A six digit number that has been sent to your email address needs to copied and then pasted in the space where it asks you for your confirmation code, press continue to move forward.
Step 6: Once the code has been accepted you will be officially logged into lonely.ie
Step 7: Once logged in you can 'add to your profile'. This means you can fill out your display name, relationship status, and gender and upload a display picture. You can also make your profile private or public; the choice is up to you.
Step 8: Once you have filled your desired details, click on 'ok, I'm done - add my profile'.
Step 9: If profile picture doesn't appear the first time, you may have to go back into 'edit profile' and then 'upload' your picture again. It may take 5 minutes to appear so be patient!
How to add friends
Once your profile has been set up, you can jump in and make friends. You can do this by clicking into fellow lonely.ie members profiles, and click the 'add to friends' option. That person will then be notified by email that you have asked them to be a friend. They can either accept of reject your request!
How to send private messages to other members
On lonely.ie you can send private messages to your friends, by going onto their profiles and clicking on the 'send message' option. Once you have clicked on this option you can then write your message to the recipient.
How do I block people sending me messages?
If you are receiving emails for unwanted senders, you will have the option of blocking these emails. By simply viewing the received message they have sent you and beside the senders name is a 'block sender' option click on this to prevent any more unwanted mail coming into your inbox. What other changes can I make while logged in?
Once you are a full fledged member of lonely.ie. You will be able to create brand new photo albums on your profile page or upload photos onto existing albums. You can also go into settings and change personal information, such as; email address, date of birth etc. Also you will have the option of changing your password in case your existing one is too hard to remember?
How to prevent / stop email notifications or Unsubscribe to forum topics?
You can unsubscribe to forum topics by visiting the forum page, then click on 'unsubscribe' which can be seen just above the topic in question. If you wish to end 'email notifications', you can do this by visiting your 'private messages', then click on 'settings', you then will be able to view email notifications and have the option to receive them or not.
How to delete friends from 'your friends' contact list
Log in, go to 'your friends', a full list will then pop up. Beside each friend there will an "X" icon on the upper right hand side, click on this to delete the friend.
How to upload photos
How to upload your profile picture.
Go to 'edit profile', go to the section where it says 'upload your photo'. Click on 'browse'. You will be required to choose your desired image from a file on your computer. Once you have clicked on your desired image go to 'ok, I'm done - update my profile. Your photos will now appear as your profile picture. Please be aware that images cannot be larger than 2MB.
How to upload pictures into a photo album.
Click on 'photo albums'. Then click on 'upload photos' or 'create an Album'. If you have chosen 'upload a photo' click on desire album. Write your own caption. Then click on browse to choose youe desired image, once you have clicked on your desired image the image will be uploaded into your photo album. Please remember onlu images that are 2MB or smaller can be uploaded.
How do I delete my profile from Lonely.ie
All profiles are deleted by the Lonely Team. If you need your profile to be deleted please email info@lonely.ie state your user name and request that you would like your profile to be removed.
How do I report a user if they are bullying or being abusive towards me.
If a member is being bullied on the site, they must report that guilty party to support@lonely.ie or info@lonely.ie
Any user who bullies or abuses another member while on Lonely.ie has breeched the terms and conditions and will be deleted or suspended from the site ASAP! We will also require evidence of abuse i.e. a copy of private messages etc that will be made a record of.
